The EC Resonant tom head is the first bottom head to promote the natural tone and body of any tom by means of frequency "tweaking." The EC Resonant tom head is constructed from a single ply of 10 mil ultra-clear film augmented with the Evans EC ring. It attenuates unwanted overtones and centers pitch, while delivering a desirable mid-range frequency bump. It's the first head to have the capacity to control and correct the tuning inconsistencies of bottom heads, a long-standing roadblock to perfect tuning for many drummers. The result is a more resonant, fatter tom that projects a truer pitch, irrespective of volume levels.

These are a MUST for your drumset! I never thought resonant heads would make much of a difference, but boy was I wrong! EC2's on top, EC Res's on the bottom...what a combination Evans! My set has never sounded better!

These heads seem a little pricey but they are well worth your money. I took a gamble with these before a live show and they payed off. If tuned correctly, they have a low end that rattles your diaphragm. Great response and resonance even with dead/thick heads

I put these heads on my best sounding set,a Gretsch round badge.I never thought a resonant head would do so much as it lowered the tone and gave a short sustain.I added Evans Hydraulic blue tom batter on top and I was able to tension the four toms more to my liking and still get a low tone with short sustain.You can't miss with this setup and you will not have to have less tension to get a lower sound. Its fast and easy to tune.

I was very skeptical about how much of a difference a resonant head could make on the drum. Was I wrong! I paired these bad boys with some EC2 clears and let them sing! I was always a big fan of the EC2 batters and matched with these EC resonant heads my kit was complete! It pulls through the deep true sound of the birch shells with just enough muffling to eliminate unwanted overtones. I just wish I could get my point through from this review itself, but I'm afraid that this product is just more than words! Try them out, I promise, you wont be disappointed.

Resonant heads are indeed overlooked, they make all the difference in the world as to how your drums sound! I slapped a set of these EC Resonant heads by Evans on my Kit along with Evans EC2 Clear batters! WOW amazing tone, the drums sound so deep and rich, a 100% difference in what I had before...I strongly suggest you get a set of these resonant heads and see the difference, it will blow you away! These were very easy to tune also, I tuned mine to the same pitch as the batter head, really brought out the deep rich tone hidden away in my tom toms. Buy these reso's you will never look back! Thanks Evans for a real breakthough in the forgotton drum head! amazing!
