Great cable for studio

I have 2 of these and one hosa, mainly because I am running 24 tracks and I wanted to alternate colors for ch 9 - 17 to easily tell them apart later. You can see from the pictures how thin the individual wires are I take care not to smash them cause they are fragile but for a mostly permenant studio environment they are great and sound the same as hosa to me. When I do live stuff I would prefer hosa because they are thicker and more durable, ut for a budget cord these rock. I am using an older Tascam board and Presonus firestudio sounds awesome.

This may not be the most top-quality cable you can buy, but the sound difference is not very noticeable (and probably most people won't even hear a difference). and for what you get, you can't beat the price.

Poor Quality Control

After receiving 4 sets of these, I hooked them up on a 24 track recorder to my mixer and found 9 out of the 24 patches were not receiving audio. Turns out that the "TIP" on the TRS 1/4" connector is about 0.013" smaller than a standard 1/4" jack. This was preventing a good connection in my breakout boxes. Switched to Hosa cables and my problem was solved. Avoid these cables.

This snake is the best value out there. We have also used several other companies cables and found that this is the best value. If you are looking for quality, go with Mogami wiring, if you are looking for value, you have found it right here. The sound is clear, we have 16 of these snakes running through our studio. If I had the option of the snake with a tight budget this is the one I'd get again.

All cable is the same, really. Ask the AES (www.aes.org) so buying cable based on your needs is ideal. The AV Link cables are well made, but not robust enough for touring or heavy use applications. However for installations or connecting racks, they are great. 6 meters is a bit long if you just need to hook a few things together, but as long as everything is balanced, it won’t affect things much.

The cables on the fan out are labeled and the plugs all have colored rings. It’s a little hard to read in low light, but the colors rings are easy to see.

It’s wire and there is no sonic difference between this and monster cable, so do some research and save some money. Just don’t buy monster because of the marketing, this cable is just fine.
