Defective assembly

Do NOT connect this to an output of anything before checking for shorts between the tip and ring with a 1/4" jack inserted in the female end. I've bought a few of these and the last one received has the tip and ring contacts within the body shorted together with a brass ring. There is a plastic insulator that should be between the two contacts that was put in the wrong place. Someone in China was sleeping when they were assembling this one. The problem of shorting the output of an amplifier or any powered device is obvious. I had this connected to one channel of an effects processor and now that channel is dead after trying to feed a signal into a dead short. I have contacted ART and am waiting for a response.

They don't work

If I could I would give these things 0 stars. That's how much sound you get out of them. The first one I got didn't work so they sent me another one and it didn't work either. I was going to use them to hook more than two amps to my Korg Toneworks effects box but I got nothing but dead silence out of the amps. Maybe they're for hooking up speakers, if that's the case they should specify what they're used for because they don't work either plugged into your guitar or plugged into a pedal.

WILL IT WORK

Well, I gave it 5 all around because I still don't know if it works. I thought you could just plug this into a guitar and plug two cords in and run two amps. When I tried this I got no sound at all from either amp. I called up returns and they sent me another one. Still no sound. I called up customer service and the guy told me it wouldn't work like that. I guess it might work if you had active electronics or a preamp on the guitar. I'm gonna try to plug it into my effects processor and see if it does anything. I had to go to work so I haven't had a chance to try it on anything else yet. They should have more of an explanation about just what this gadget can be used for. Will definitely not work to just plug it into a guitar with regular pickups.
