Especially if you like to play with your cymbal clamped down, this spring allows the cymbal to move, avoiding unnecessary torque and damage. Slip over the threaded portion of your cymbal stand tilter top and tighten in place with a pressure screw.

You spent forever finding just the right cymbal with the sweetest sound, now try to avoid thrashing it. Protect your investment. Put it in the cart.

I use regular felts and I use rubber washers on some of my crashes. I use the cymbal spring on my 14" Chinas. I have a Wuhan and a K mini China and they both sound great and snap back when hit using this spring. I agree with some of the others that the set screw kind of sucks because it can eat into your threads on your cymbal posts of your cymbal holders. Personally I would never mount a ride or a crash on these. I think they are best suited for chinas. The way a normal crash or ride wobbles and moves is not really what this does. This thing kind of flops back and forth. That motion is okay for a china since they do not move and vibrate the same way as a traditional cymbal. If you are breaking crashes film yourself or practice in front of a mirror and see what you are doing wrong. Drummers generally don't break cymbals all the time unless they are bashing without proper technique or none at all.

I don't know what all of you guys are talking about "striping out the threads" I have used a heavy cymbal spring, played at least 30 jobs this year, and tightened the screw too the MAX and it still never stripped out the threads on the stand. This is a very good invention. It saved my china's from breaking all the time. I have absolutely NO complaints about this item. 5/5

I've been using Aquarian Cymbal Springs for well over 20 years & there's no doubt that they increase the life of the cymbals measured in years. They take all of the stress off of the bells that conventional washers & wing nuts cannot. I have cymbals on my rig that are well over 10 - 15 years old & I play regularly & many styles including blues / rock / progressive / death metal. They truly make a difference.

I have two heavy cymbal springs for my 18 medium crash, and my 19 inch rock crash, and let me tell you, they can take a beating with these things. I play anywhere from two shows a week, to two shows a month and the cymbals I keep on these havent cracked one bit.

At first, the cymbals did react a little weird, they would sway back and forth, very different than it would on a normal stand with felts. What I did was I took the bottom rubber cap, and replaced it with a normal cymbal felt, then screwed the top one back on normally. After that it feels alot more natural!

Im about to get a new china [I go through chinas like candy] so Im putting my new one on one of these and Im sure itll last ALOT longer than if I put it on just a normal stand.

They really save your cymbals, and if you play alot of shows, and dont have enough money to buy new cymbals every week, they are well worth it.

These were recommended to me when I was going through a spell of breaking cymbals. The concept works, I guess. I didn't break anymore cymbals. However, after a few weeks, I took them off. They ruined the threads on my stands so I had to replace those parts.

The problem for me was the cymbals reacted very differently when you hit them. Instead of just the cymbal dipping on it's pivot, you've got the entire cymbal moving around. It acts like your stand is coming unglued. It's very difficult to control especially if you hit the cymbal in rapid succession. I've had my cymbal knock the stick out of my hand during a performance.

All in all, they seem to be made well and I appreciate the concept, I just wouldn't recommend them. The time saved at set up and tear down is very minimal at best. You still have to unscrew a nut!
