Improved drive-shaft linkage is specifically designed to maintain the all-ball-bearing action which sets Axis double pedals apart. Patented variable drive lever lets you get the feel of any type of pedal with one simple adjustment. Beater-forward design substantially increases power without feeling heavier, for more speed and punch from both heel-up and heel-down players. The universal joints feature a "zero backlash" design which transfers the power from the slave side to the primary side with the maximum torque, rebound, and sensitivity.

Axis A2 Double Pedal Features:

  • Improved drive-shaft linkage
  • All ball-bearing action
  • Variable drive lever for radical changes of feel
  • Beater-forward design for more power
  • "Zero-backlash" universal joint

I use these pedals in my metal band a long with DW 5000's and i find these definately have a better feel. They are unbelievably fast, light and responsive. As far as techniques like heal toe i works great. Pretty pricy tho, that is the only downside

Great for speed, but no power

When I first got these pedals they took some time to get used to. I play the Iron Cobras so I was used to lots of power, but these give you almost none, unless you play with triggers which these are basically made for. The speed though is unreal. If you have the foot speed you can do 250 and up easily, which is good for what I play (Extreme Metal). They are also very light which is a plus.

Now let me talk about the bad thing. When I got these the slave pedal loosened almost immediately causing the footboard to hit the plate on every stroke. I tried fixing this multiple times but it kept on loosening. After a while of this seemingly irreversible problem I just sold them and switched back to the Iron Cobras. I'm sure I could have done more but I don't really have the time to keep fixing a problem which shouldn't happen in the first place.

Bottom line: If you play extreme metal (which these are basically meant to be used for) and use triggers, then this pedal is probably the one you want (though I haven't tried Trick yet) but if you want something that doesn't have an insane price tag and can give you the power you need, I suggest buying the Iron Cobras or maybe a Pearl Eliminator.

This pedals are the best you can get. They are priced very high but also meet every standard no matter how high. These pedals are very quiet, quick and very adjustable. The pedals may feel a little funny at first but you get use to them and just improve from there. If you have the money get the longboards but if you can't you loss nothing from getting these.

First of all...I'd like to explain my rating of "1" for the features. It is just a very simple pedal. Remenissent of that of a "Ludwig Speedking" Which I grew up playing, and was hard pressed to find a double pedal that had the same feel, speed, response, and sensitivity. I ended up getting a Pearl Eliminator double, because it was in the budget, and felt the most like a speed king as I could afford. I had that pedal sinse the week it was released, and I've loved it, but still felt it didn't have the action that I wanted, or needed. Axis was always in the back of my mind for if I ever won the lotery, because at over $500 for the longboards...Not many can afford it. Well...I finally saved up and bought one, and I realize now that that is what I should've have done to start with. My legs no longer get fatigued, and I no longer have to worry about the heel toe double strokes. It is truley the greatest pedal I've ever played, and would reccomend it to everyone, and tell them to save their pennies. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Amazing pedals and worth every penny. They feel weird at first because they are so quick, but when you get used to it you just get faster and faster. Best pedal on the market in my opinion
