Best pedal I've played on for sure. Ive messed with DW's, Iron Cobra's, Pearls, all kinds, and this pedal bury's em all. It has tons of adjustment options to fit you and your playstyle. The pedal is also super light. If youre reading this you probably have heard this a million times already, but it takes time to get used to this pedal. I had to try different beaters and make a ton of adjustments before I found what I was looking for in this pedal. Once I did though, it was totally worth it. Oh, and if you play in socks like I do, you may wanna cover the Axis logo with tape or something, cause the logo will tear holes in your socks.

First off, this pedal is not made for everyone. It sits in its own category, not just some other pedal on the market. Therefore making it extremely different. It is the lightest pedal i have ever laid my foot on, no doubt about that. Theres also that rumor that it doesnt get enough power? That is complete bull. If you use triggers on your bass drums, no pedal can top this one. If you dont(like me) youll stillbe fine. What people dont understand about these pedals is the fact that it takes time to get used to them. it took me almost 6 weeks to get the right power to quickness ratio down. Once you establish this, it becomes easier to make harder contact with the bass drum. Kids are to ambitious and quickly return this pedal, like some of the kids below this review. Give the pedal time to adjust to your foot and your speed. And everything will start falling into place. Also, the rumor about the sonic hammers it comes with is partially true. people say they come loose and break easily, etc. AXIS HAS THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PLANET. No doubt about it. My sonic beaters never came loose, but they did break about 4 weeks in. like literally snapped in half within 5 mintues of each other. both of them. gone. i immediately called the axis number (go to their website), and said the following: "hey my sonic hammers just broke, can i get replacements through this number?" he said "yeah man no problem, the ones that most online stores stock them with are the lowest type. I can upgrade you to the ones that are twice as strong, there virtually indestructable. i was like aight man that sounds good. He asked for my address, and they came in 5 days. No shipping charges, no warranty bull crap, he just simply hooked me up. This is what Axis is about. Im a customer for life. To any of you looking to buy this pedal, my word of advise, is give yourself time to adjust with them, at that point, no other pedal can come close to this thing.

Axis Longboard A

My first impression of the Axis pedal was elegance and simplicity at it's finest. The Axis pedal has a feel that no other pedal in the world has. I have been using iron cobra's power glide for about 3 to 4 years now. I have my spring tension all the way up, with the beaters about 8 cm away from the bass drum head (45 degree angle). I do this so I can get the quickest rebound possible. I started noticing that I peak 16th notes at about 240 bpm with Iron Cobras and get tired after only a couple minutes. This prompted me to take a look at the axis pedals (most 'extreme metal' drummers use these). I knew from research that the axis pedal was a whole different beast before i received them, and would take some time to get used to. This was definatly the case. The axis has a totally different feel than any other pedal i've ever felt before. When I first set the pedals up, I automatically tightened the spring tension up as tight as it will go and moved the VDL (varible drive lever) to the middle. The first thing i noticed about the pedal is that it is a lot bigger than most pedals. Another thing is that it picks up on the slightest of foot movement. Within 2 tries I got the heel toe technique (both methods), which I have never been able to do consistantly. I actually didn't like the feel of these pedals at first at all, I actually hated it. Since I anticipated this reaction due to previous research, I remained patient. When playing 16th notes at 210 and up, you should really be using your ankle and no leg. If you watch any instructional video's by George Kollias, he demonstrates this very well. The axis pedal requires that you have this technique and is hard to play without it. If your leg technique is a straight power approach, it may take a while to get used to these pedals, because they do not respond to raw power the way a traditional pedal might. You may even hate these pedals! Don't get me wrong, I'm a power drummer so it's nothing that cant be easily overcome, with practice. If you want to use proper technique and push your drumming to new levels, i highly suggest using this pedal. It took me a good three weeks until I was fully comfortable on these pedals, and over a month until I was equal to or beyond the level of playing I was at on my previous pedals. I am now beyond any level of playing speed on my feet than I have ever been in my life. I'm thankful I took the time and effort to learn how to use these pedal, It is well worth it in the end. If you have an open mind, patients, and want speed with little effort, get these pedals now!

I just bought this pedal about a week ago, and I'm looking to sell it. I originally had a DW 5000, and I wish I would've stuck with it. The Axis isn't that powerful and is too lightweight for me. This pedal was very disappointing.
