This pedal is amazing. It's super smooth and quick, and allows for excellent heel-toe. And I like playing with triplet double bass, and this pedal allows for fluid triplets with NO effort. It practically plays for you. Triplets FTW!

Great Pedal

I recently bought 2 of these pedals, these pedals are incredibly smooth and super quick. Being that you have the extra 3 inches in the heel plate, the feel of the pedal may need some getting use to, but it's not difficult, the only flaw i could think is the velcrow on the bottom. It is very very strong, and can be a neusence when trying to put them under your bass drums. For maximum speed and response, i suggest tensioning the spring, all the way up. Deffinetly ideal for MetAL/Death metal playing styles.

I was very dissapointed. They just dont have the setting others do. Like the footboard cannot be adjust higher or lower. And another problem w/this pedal was that the bottom plate by the heel would lift up when playing causing my bass drum to move. I'm getting the iron cobras instead. One good thing about axis is their friendly staff, too bad the pedal wasnt what i expected.

I got two of these pedals for my double-kick set about a month or so ago and they are amazing. I am a bit of a speed freak, so I was recording 16th note double bass speed runs with Pearl Powershifters (belt driven) at a top speed of 250 bpm (with a metronome). The day I got the Axis pedals, I figured out I couldn't do heel-toe very well. However, I tried again with the metronome just doing singles, and I achieved 300 bpm double bass. These pedals actually added that much more speed to my playing, just due to their frictionless design and incredibly smooth action. My only gripe is that these pedals are only really built for speed; I found that playing half-time double-bass (8th notes) at about 190 or so is difficult because the pedals are swinging up and down at exactly the wrong times for your kicks to register loudly. However, this is probably adjustable through the spring tension, but I'm not touching mine since I've got it where I want it. Overall, these are superb pedals and I definitely recommend them if you're into extreme double-bass speed.
