I find it odd that people are willing to pay more for this than RIC's stock humbucker, the HB-1, which sounds really great (it comes stock in the 4004 and 650). This is a worthy pickup too but to my ears it is harsher sounding than RIC's pickup. I definitely prefer the RIC humbucker's tone. If you like harsh, Alembic-sounding tones you may want to go with this SD pickup. If you like a more full, organic sound I think the RIC pickup is far superior.

These pickups are great when wired with a toggle switch for series/split/parallel operation. Thick and fat, vintage Rick-like bite, and clean & punchy sounds are all available. If you're not a Rick purist, go for it!

When i removed the pickup from its box, I saw a faint glow of heaven emanating from all around it. I had a sense of inner peace as I installed this accesory of the gods. I believe that there would be no war or famine if everyone only installed this pickup.
