as a tuner it works. As a metronome....well....if you are alone in a quiet room with an acoustic guitar , playing very softly, you might hear it....

I play guitar and I'm still learning, but at best this tuner/metronome is mediocre. The tuner is highly unresponsive, while at first it was. The metronome is extremely quiet, and I can barely hear it over my Les Paul when its unplugged! Get something else.

Severely Lacking

I bought this product thinking that it would be a good buy... you know, getting a tuner and a metronome for the price of one. I was wrong. Neither product is satisfactory in my opinion. I play trombone, and I tried using this to tune when I play a phrase, but it just has a very slow response time. I have to play one note and hold it for about 2 seconds for it to even pick up. The slow response time is unforgivable in a tuner.

The metronome function is decent with lots of features, but it really needs to be louder to be of any use. There is no volume control, and I just can't feel the pulse unless I play extremely soft.

This product probably works fine for guitars and basses because the slow response time doesn't matter, but for wind instruments that you need to constantly check tuning on, stay away from the Boss TU-80.

Metronome needs help

As a standard tuner, this works fine. The metronome is so quiet I can't even play scales with my acoustic and still hear it. If I play open chords, I can't hear it at all. You also cannot plug it into an amp and hear the metronome. The tuner does not have a flat button to change on the fly. Overall I would look to other products before spending your money. I hope this helps.
