Clean and Loud

I have used these in 1x12, 2x12 and 4x12 cabs. These are excellent dynamic speakers for 1x12 or 2x12 open-back cabs or combos when you need more volume and definition--especially with clean tones.

The bass is extremely tight and closed-backed cabs did not seem to enhance the bass. These turn a 4x12 cab into a monster with 3 times the volume of a typically loaded 4x12. You also get 3 times the treble and I don't recommend this for vintage tones. If you want a NEO for this, try the Century Vintage.

These speakers really excel if you are using guitar modeling thru a clean power amp.

I have had these for about 3 months now. I replaced the speakers in my Fender Hot Rod Deville to give it more clean headroom. It also lightened the amp by 8 pounds. Best sounding speaker on the market, but expensive. Great for Jazz, country, or classic rock.

I just bought these speakers to replace some old Carvin. My rig is a Mesa boogie Tri-Axis and even though the speakers do sound good, I found them to have an annoying brittle or srhillness on the treble that I just couldn't get rid of. I tried diffrent guitars ( Gibson SG, Rickenbacker, Les Paul and Strat) and I always had that overly bright brittle sound. I redid my sound patches on the Tri-Axis and I just think its the nature of the speakers. They're problably good for heavier music but I play classic rock and jazz so I like a speaker that has warmth and depth. On the plus side, they're very light so a speaker cab will be much easier to lug around from gig to gig.

My search for the perfect sound continues....

Make Your Vox Perfect

I just put one of these in my Vox AD50VT. WOW. It is worth every penny. The lows are deeper, fuller; the highs are clear and clean; the mids no longer dominate the amp. The speaker distorts beautifully, with a rich, full sound. The speaker that came with the VOX AD50VT was good, but this speaker is GREAT.

This speaker is better than a V-30,G75t or classic80, for metal and rock buy a long shot but is a sensitive as the 15 watt Alnic blue,,very clear and extra loud speaker that only weighs 3.5 pounds,,just the clearest most tonefull Celestion ever made and it also still has the classic tone.
