Perfect with V30s

I've been running a Mills Acoustics Afterburner 412B cab with all V30s for the past 2 years. It sounded great. After reading many reviews of the G12K blended with V30s in an "X" pattern, I decided to give it a try. Man oh man! The G12K-100 adds a layer of articulate power that I love. It almost gives a stereo effect that just compliments the V30 perfectly. Lows and mids are boosted with clarity and the highs are reinforced with a bit of crispness without any harsh tones at stage volumes. The blend with the snarl of the V30s adds a dose of balance and some extra headroom from the higher handling of the G12K. For OD metal play, these speakers in this cab just cannot be beaten. I've tried them all.

I got 2 of these to give me 2x12 combo some more umff and boy did they rock. Clear sounds no matter what kidna tone i was pushing. From clean to grind to even jazz. Very nice speakers. If your looking to upgrade and its in your price range go for it

I bought this from a friend and man was it a good deal. These speakers have quite an amazing tone. When hitting low notes, I get a very aggressive, thick, and heavy tone. When hitting higher notes, they are extremely clear. When I have distortion on or not, the sound is always clear, I never find the notes jumbled together. Perfect for all sorts of metal, country, blues, and classical.

I've been running a 4x12 with Vintage 30s in it and wanted to make a 2x12 cab for either a practice cab or to pair up with my 4x12. I'm running a 6505+ head (120W), so I needed some speakers that could take the power if I was going to run just the 2x12. I came across these, saw that they had the same magnet as the Vintage 30 (the heaviest one, 50 oz.), similar frequency response, and they are 100W. Well, the frequency curve is actually quite different when you actually listen to them. They have very bitey midrange compared to the V30s and more punch. After a slight change in my EQ settings and breaking them in for a while though, the bite sort of starts to go away, and I'm beginning to like them more and more.

This speaker has a pure tone that Tele players will love. Bottom end is all there and the twang chimes. Made for metal and country. LOL. Really! I use it as an extension cab for my Hiwatt Custom 50 and Traynor DG65 amps. My Tele, Gretsch and Strat sound great. It is very loud with 50 or 60 watts pushing it. Not a Vintage 30 sound. Pure and sweet.
