I have never before written a negative review, but this thing is ridiculously bad. Just got the case for my GrooveTools Conklin 7-string (a fine instrument). The instrument won't even fit in the case, as the cut-out inside is too narrow (and not long enough to accomodate the back strap button either). The construction is very very cheap. I shall of course be returning it. Should be taken off the market. Conklin's own web site notes that there are quality issues with these cases, and suggests getting a good one from him.

I'd like to share my experience with it. These are not great cases but, in this price bracket, they're not as junky as some have stated. I have been using mine a lot for the past 9 months. The problems I have had so far are a screw pulling through the canvas covering and the center hinge pin falling out. The canvas handles are secure enough to carry the case (not even sure how one could "fall off" if used properly). No, these are not great cases; for the price they may strike some people as a rip off, but for the money, they will keep the bass safe for a while. However, if you're going to be transporting your bass a lot and potentially having it thrown around, a REAL Conklin hardshell case directly from Conklin would be the smartest choice - but you get what you pay for.

I have had 2 of these cases. Pegs were rotted, threading was cheap. I don't gig much, and this 2nd case is totally destroyed. I would only take it if it was given to me.

What a rip off

The cheap design of this product (cardboard and thin fabric) makes for a poor purchase. I owned this case for 3 months before I upgraded to their hard shell case. In this time, both the strap and a handle fell off and the fabric ripped entirely off of one side. They should be giving them away in hopes that instruments are irreparably broken, thus forcing purchase of new ones. Go with a different protective option.

DO NOT ORDER THIS!!! I had two to come in and both had to be sent back due to corrosion on the metal parts, the fabric pulling away from the zipper. Bill Conklin should get with a case mfg. and Pvt. label a decent one.

Do your self a favor and order the Musicians Friend case it cost less and is actually something you would want to store a Bass in!!!
