The best

I have used Kaman and Augustine blacks, but prefer these strings for classical finger-style above and beyond anything else on the market. I will not use anything else because nothing else sustains and lasts like EJ45s.

I use the semi polished, gold plated and these and are very happy with them but use Hannabach PR trebles which have a little more body to them and last and last and last. Overall good mark from me on the basses though.

I've used D'Addario strings on my electic and found they were the toughest for my heavy hand, then bought a classical 18 years ago and always string with d'adddario. I've tried a couple other brands but they didn't last as long! Cheers, DAVE

The Only Way To Go

I've been a classical guitarist for several years now, and D'Addario makes the best of the best. I know several world-renown classical guitarists who swear by Pro Arte strings, which is why I started using them, and I can definitely see why they're so well-respected among elite classical guitarists. If you're looking for true finger-picking style classical guitar nylon strings with optimum tone and value, the Pro Arte line is the best way to go.

I am not sure exactly how these are supposed to sound, but the set I just received were very weak in the trebles. I short, I was very displeased with the strings and just ordered two sets of the Augustine Red Label strings with which I have previous experience. The trebles on the D'Addario set were just very, very weak. I play a classical guitar, but in the flatpicking style as I like the tone and sound I get. Maybe these would be alright for a classical player, but they certainly did not suit my style. I hate giving bad reviews and do not want to slander a manufacturer, but the sound of these strings were not even close to good in my opinion.
