ive always played rounds but i was afraid of the fret getting eaten off my new rickenbacker. i decided to check out the flats right? they are amazing, they have a super great tone and last forever. i play prolly 2 hours a day, everyday. they have outlasted every other string by 2 months. they sound rather bright if you play with a pick. straight 5s for these. you wont regret buying these babies.

I've used ernie ball slinkys for the past two years because they always stayed in tune. But I recently bought these looking to get a better tone. When I played them for the first time, my fingers would have _____ if they could. (dont want to use the actual word). But seriously these strings have the greatest feel and tone ever. I would definitely reccomend some one to get these.

Fantastic Tone!

I have played flatwound strings on my 6 string electric guitars before and didn't care for them. So I was reluctant to try these, but I'm sure glad I did. I love the smooth low tone of the .105, but I really love the .50 G string that actually sounds like it is a bass string. If you like to play your bass to help drive the beat, along with the drums, this is your set. They may not be for everyone, because they probably aren't as responsive for slapping or popping. I also like them for low volume practicing because of the reduced finger noise. I recommend everyone try these and decide for yourselves.

I had used these strings for a long time (they were originally intended to mellow out my old cheap bass rig), and I finally convinced myself that I should use some semi rounds to try to open up my sound possibilities. I had them on for about a day before I had had enough and went back to these. Great strings, sound great on any rig (I use GK 1001RB-II and GK MB 150E), and are great for a lot of different styles.

These strings have served well for the five years I've used them. They haven't broken once during the various gigs of strenuous play, and they make every bass sound 10 times better. They have a real mellow tone to them, and give a great driving low bass sound. Great for any bass, and as far as I have found so far just about any style.
