I only play swing jazz and have three archtops. I put DAdarrio chromes on two of them but my favorite guitar just needs these 1/2 rounds. They sound a little brighter and have a great accoustic sound. I recommend these strings for their liveliness. They seem to last pretty long also. I know flat is the rule but sometimes you just have to break the rules.
