these things, you won't be afraid of them. You slap them on your guitar, don't be gentle! They go on real nice, tune real nice, and sound absolutely wonderful. they sound nice and bright, with some deep sounds too! compared to the strings i had (some cruddy silvertone ones, who's even heard of silvertone?) I only have one guitar, my acoustic that i got from sears for 90 bucks for x-mas, but these things make it sound like a great sounding, 300+ dollar acoustic!

I have tried a lot of different strings. These just work best for me. They don't break easily and they sound good. I use EJ17s on my Martin dread and EJ16s on my Masterbilt finger style and my Seagull Coastline Grand (travel guitar). I have given up trying other brands. D'Addario does it...

Especially Good for Fingerstyle

Right now, I am using the extra-light gauge phospher bronze strings from D'addario for fingerstyle, but I believe that if I use these regular light gauge strings, the volume will be at least a bit better sounding.

EJ16's used to be my standard. I've been using Elixir Polyweb lights exclusively for about two years. I had some EJ16's lying around and I put em on wow. They last longer than Elixir's breakage wise. Whenever I play Elixir's I always feel like I have to baby them so they will settle without breaking. You should never have to do that to strings. D'Addarios sound like good old fashioned All-American acoustic guitar strings. The tone really shines and is very musically colorful. They’re nice and warm, yet bright. And the best part I never have to worry about them breaking! To me that is so relieving! The Elixirs almost seem dull in comparison. I love what D'Addario does. The packaging is really cool; there is less to throw away. I love the colored ends. And the website is a great resource for product information and honing in your skills as a musician, via the to the stage link. It's the most comprehensive string website I've been to. These might be my standard again. D'Addario rules!

go with steel strings instead

These strings are pretty terrible, I have to tune to double flat just to get the right tone. They last a long time but sound terrible compared to steel strings.
