Excellent for Fingerstyle!!

If you devote most or all of your playing to fingerstyle, I highly recommend these. They are easier on the fingesr, and the tone is quite mellow. Not everyone can stand the loud bright tones of 80/20 Bronze strings. I love Silk & Steel strings!!!!

I am glad I tried these out!! They have a nice mellow tone and they definitely are easier on my fingers. And when I play fingerstyle songs, the tone comes out even prettier than ever before!! My fingers are already used to these guys, though of course they have always been used to the feel of the harder and more brittle metal strings from the beginning. Still, I like bronze strings just as much. So I may still think about sticking to bronze again, but Silk and Steel strings are some of the best strings I have ever experimented with!! Buy them!

Especially great for fingerstyle players

If you experience sore fingers when using metal strings on your guitar, silk and steel strings may be a great substitute. They are easier on the fingers even though they are bright silver in color. My fingers are already used to the more brittle types of strings, but I might try these out anyway. And a word of advice; don't use them on your electric guitar.

i'm a pretty picky musician, and these strings have quickly become my favorites. they are light enough gauge so that there isn't too much tension so on the fingerstyle slaps you get a nice snare sound, and they can retain a lower tuning with pretty minimal fret buzz (i've gone down to c# standard and had no problems). their tone is mellow, but not dead, and they don't break as easily as the martin folk strings. the bottom end is well supported and the treble is clear but not overpowering. they resonate well and really are just overall great strings.

Very Smooth

Tried these on my Epiphone DR100 as the stock strings were crap and a set of Bronze Lights was much better, but a little too bright for what I was looking for.

And what I found with these was indeed lower tension which makes it easier to play for newbies, and also a mellower tone as advertised. Very good strings, they perform as they say.
