i have been using these strings for awhile now, i have gone from standard tuning to drop B and everything inbetween. The stings last for awhile, i have bought new strings, knowing that these will probably break soon, but they dont! I keep wanting these to break so i can try out these other strings, but that happening made notice the great quality of these strings and i will probably buy more of these in the future.
Features- 5 : they can go through a wide variety of tunings
Quality- 5 : they last forever!
Value-5 : great quality for a couple bucks
Great Product!

Feel and sound great, G quiet

These strings feel and sound great. They give a smoother transition to the treble strings in both regards. Only problem is, the G is VERY quiet compared to a regular (unwound) G. Back in the day, all electric guitars had wound thirds. If you play those old guitars with new guitar strings, the unwound third will sound collossal because the pole pieces were set up for the wound G, which has much less steel. Modern guitars' pickups are set up for unwound thirds, and by using a wound G string you'll run into the opposite problem - the G string will be far too quiet. If you have adjustable pole pieces, raise the pole piece below your third string to get a better volume balance. Like I said, the transition is much smoother from low to high, in both feel and sound.

The Strings

I put a set of these on my WI-64 and all I can say is I'll never use anything else on this guitar. These give me a really rich, full sound that I just love. I get a bluesy, jazzy sound without wearing grooves in my fingers playing a heavier string. These strings also sound excellent with full on distortion. I just can't say enough good about these strings, try a set and I bet you'll like them too.

Nice change!

I went to these because I never really dug how my G was such a change in tone quality from the low E, A and D strings on my Telecaster. This was a really nice change and makes licks across those strings much more smooth in tone. It does provide a thicker punch to chords, which is always nice, too. As at least review mentioned, I have experienced more resistance to bending, but that will come with some time. Great strings and I am very happy with the outcome.

This is a great set of strings. I've always hated the distinct difference in tone between the wound 4th and plain 3rd in most electric string sets. In fact, I'd been buying packs of only 22w strings (the smallest wounds I could find) and using those instead of the conventinal plain 3rd that came in the sets I had bought before I realized that they actually made non-ultra-heavy sets with wound 3rds. Then I discovered these. The super-thin 18w string is awesome. It sounds like a wound string as well as a plain string! Running up and down the scales, I can't even tell by sound where the wound strings end and the plain strings begin, which is exactly what I've been looking for. More importantly, the intonation of the wound 3rd is so much more accurate than that of the plain 3rd.
No matter what style of music you play, you must try these!
