Best strings for Jazz Bass

These Dr strings have the clearest tones that I have ever heard. A while ago I didn't care for steel strings because I always thought that they felt like sandpaper. That's not the case with these high beams. They are very flexible and smooth. I highly recommend these strings for Fender Jazz basses. When you install them make sure that you lower the pickups so that the sound is not too hot. Another plus is that these strings are super long. They are perfect for body through designs and will provide plenty of wrap for the D string (4+1) configuration.

If these strings are too expensive for you, then i highly recommend the Fender 8250's with the tapered B and E string! They give an identical sound at almost half the price.

I got these strings a while back (about 1 year ago) thinking something this expensive cannot be bad. Luckily I was right. Right from the git-go these strings sounded amazing. And they've lasted through tons of playing, an average of 3 hours a day! The one thing I do to take care of them is wipe them down when I'm finished playing (which is a good idea for any strings). They still sound great! These are top notch!

Since I've owned my Euro-made Spector bass, I've used these strings exclusively. I love the warmth of the mid-tones, the clear thunder of the lows and the clarity of the highs. Stainless steel adds in the life expectancy of these babys. They cost a little more, but they're worth the extra cash. Try these!
