Gauges 50-70-90-110.

Hi-Beam Stainless Steel Bass Strings are roundwound and constructed upon a round core, which is unique in the industry. Hi-Beams require much more time, care, and extra steps to make than other bass strings. The extra effort DR expends results in a bass string that is highly flexible and musically bright without harshness. Hi-Beams are renowned for unusually long life, consistency, and string-to-string balance. They don't eat your frets. Choose them for brightness and ease of playing. They fit virtually all scale lengths up to 37-3/4".ÿ

I received these strings for Christmas and have been playing them for a week. They have a very nice feel. I play very fast/complex songs and these strings allow me to slide up and down the frets with ease. I recommend these for anyone.

Well I've had these for over a month now and I think they're starting to mellow out. I play several hours a day and play in drop C for my metal band. These DR Heavy Hi-Beams are perfect for it. They are remarkably bright, but not to the point of being harsh, like most other stainless steel brands are. These strings make it easy to tap, slap, and pop with. Even though the DR Lo-Riders are made for that. They strings truly make me stand out in my band.

The heavier gauge give a solid bass sound under the brightness of these strings. The D and G have a fuller sound than lighter strings. These really are easier on frets and fretless basses.

the best bass strings i've EVER played

I'm a bassist who before trying these strings was just at a crossroads; i couldn't find strings that helped in giving me the tone i wanted. I've tried D'addario, Ernie Ball, Rotosound, but none of these satisfied me. Before I decided to buy a pack of these, I was using Rotosound .50-.110's (heavy gauge). They were better than Ernie Ball or D'addario, but still not quite what i was looking for in tone. I loved Geezer Butler's (of Black Sabbath) tone and I knew he used these strings (same gauge and everything) so i ordered some off this site. As soon as I put them on my bass and plugged in, i noticed a HUGE difference in tone right off the bat. These strings have the best tone out of any string I've tried, and also have the longest lifespan out of anything I've tried. I would DEFINITELY recommend these beauties to anyone.
