I got this pedal for less than on here at some other store...Point is, the beaters man...They hit my foot and my shin all the time, the angle's just too big...But it sounds amazing, that's the one good thing about it is that it sounds amazing with the beater facing either way. I would recommend this for a beginner at double bass like I was when I got this, but if you're experienced, you'll definitely want a better one, get a 7000 or 5000...Maybe some Tama or Pearl pedals are better as well...

I really liked it even though it is only a single chain design, I felt more in control of the pedal than the others I tested out at my local music store. Actually I think I had more control with the DW 4002 than the Iron cobra.

Good for begginers most likely. I've had mine for a while and it works good, but the feel changes sometimes and i ajust it alot, which is a pain. My left pedal has started to squeek for an unknown reason.The beater always hits my shin when at rest or from the rebound after i hit. Overall ok pedal, but there are better ones, both from DW and other brands

This is my first DW product, and a big disappointment. The beater angle is not adjustable and it constantly hits my leg and foot on the back stroke. The beater practically touches my leg in an "at rest" position. I also own a Sonor single and inexpensive Gibralter double pedal - both have superior action. I will be selling this DW 4000 and looking for something better. The DW quality is excellent, but how could DW get the geometry so wrong?

This was my first double bass pedal and I liked it. The price isnt too bad but I wouldnt buy this pedal again. For just a little more I would end up buying either either the 7002 or maybe the 5002 series pedal. But its a good starting pedal.
