i got this a set i bought from a friend a couple of years ago. ive beat it like a red headed step child and ive never had to do one thing to it other than take it off when im moving my set. its perfect in everyway. I love DW everything. Dont buy a pdp pedal cuz its basically the same brand. less than half the quality. DW sometimes is over priced nut amazing. pdp drums are decent knock-offs though. this pedal is perfect.

Springs don't last

When I got the pedal dialed in I adored it!! It is a really great feeling pedal. In less than 2 months the spring broke. I had a make-do spring that got me through, but right away ordered TWO direct replacements. One to undo the make-do and now it made sense to have a spare. Those springs don't last long. I recently got a DW8000... the spring assembly is different and maybe more durable I thought. NOPE. Not a bit of increased reliability. To be quite honest I would feel guilty selling these pedals to anyone. It's a darn shame too because when working they are great. I just can't tolerate the unreliability. ALL IT IS IS THAT STUPID SPRING BREAKS! DW desperately needs to change the supplier of those springs. Other than those springs breaking within a few weeks, the pedals are great, but don't be caught without a spare spring or another bass pedal.

I use my single and double 5000 series pedal with my pdp x7 series drumset, and my goodness does it project some sound in my bassdrum. I have to use mics for everything else.

Great feel, speed, and reliability. This pedal is amazing and worth the money. I'm not saying Iron Cobras are bad, but I think these are just as good or better.
