Almost the best thing on 2 legs.

I purchased this stand as a complement to my DW 5002TD3 Turbo Chain-Drive Double Pedal. Apparently, the quality I found in the 5002TD3 is also present in this pedal.
Easy to set up right out of the box, the factory settings should be fine for most players. The two-leg design saves space behind the kit and is every bit as sturdy as any three-leg model available. Everything about this pedal is quality, with one exception -- the folding pedal.
If you're in a hurry to set up or tear down, the folding pedal is the one flaw in the design. Although the end result is a functional and sturdy unit, folding the pedal requires the user to loosen 4 screws with the drum key that's included with the unit. Once the screws are loosened, the pedal will fold up almost flush with the unit. To secure the pedal when it is folded, you must tighten those same screws to hold the pedal in the folded position. This is entirely too time-consuming and could have been remedied with a button locking system wherein a mere press of a button could have unlocked the pedal for folding and re-locked it in the storage position. I'm somewhat disappointed that DW couldn't figure this out.
However, if you're looking for a road-worthy, heavy-duty, and maintenance-free hi-hat stand (aside from the ill-designed pedal folding system), get this stand. It should provide you with many years of service.

Stick with Iron Cobra

I just got this yesterday. I also own an Iron Cobra Velo Glide Hi-hat stand and I will be comparing the DW to that. Overall, the Iron Cobra is a better stand for less money. The DW is really sturdy and plays great, but there is no way (at least I haven't found one) to adjust the tension. The folding base is also more difficult to set up than the iron cobra because it locks with 4 screws. Two cool things about this stand though: 1 It comes with a really heavy duty drum key with a holder that clips on the stand (Really cool) and the clutch is better than the Iron Cobra clutch. It also comes with a short rod and long rod, so you can choose your height. A good stand and if you're loyal to DW go for it. But if you want a similar, better stand for less money, go with the Iron Cobra.

I loved this hihat stand until I made the mistake of letting one of my friends use it for a show, he bent te foot board really far, it was a good thing that it was flexiable, because I was able to bend it back into shape, no thanks to a little muscle. Spend the little extra and buy the heavy weight version.

I bought the Delta 2, about 8 months ago. I heard about how great the 5000 series stands were and everything that's been said about them is true. It’s Very customizable; from being able to adjust the tension to only having two very sturdy legs that take up less space and eliminate stand clutter around the set. The legs rotate almost all the way around the stand. Very easy to disassemble and comes with two rods; one short and one long one depending on how high you prefer your hi-hat to be.

We were in Quebec in front of 400-500 people and my Roadie fell over during the show because he was still wasted from the night before. The HIGH Hat stand came crashing down and bounced off his head and came right back up! The crowd roared. Thank You DeltaII!!!
