The DW 9002PC Double Pedal is just what you need for reaction and speed. To create incredibly smooth, gravity-defying action, the 9000's Floating Rotor is not permanently affixed on a conventional drive shaft but is mounted on a free-floating drive shaft using friction-reducing ball-bearings. In addition, the patented Rotor can be infinitely adjusted using the Infinite Torque Adjustment for a variety of positions from center (Turbo-style) to eccentric (Accelerator-style), achieving the desired balance of power and precision in any playing situation. Furthermore, by moving the location of the Floating Spring from the end of the hex shaft to the center of the pedal, the vertical alignment of the moving parts is maintained and the indirect transfer and loss of energy is virtually eliminated - further optimizing the pedal's speed and power and precision.

In addition to Delta ball-bearings at the rocker, hex shaft, and hinge, the 9000 also employs friction-reducing ball-bearings in the rotor and spring connector while incorporating several of the 5000 Series' most popular upgrades such as a stackable heel plate, dual/side adjusting hoop clamp, 101 2-way beater, built-in spurs, and lightweight aluminum pedal plates and linkages. Includes a custom-designed, injection-molded case with special compartments for pedals, beaters, and accessories.'

I recently bought these pedals, i was trying to decide to shell out the extra cash for the pearl demon drivers or get the 9002s, i found that the pedals were everything more than i expected, they are very smooth and don't feel like your kicking air, they are excellent quality, they don't have as many features as the demons but in my opinion they don't need them, i seriously recommend these pedals to the drummer looking for quality, and insane speed.

I currently own a set of Powerglide Iron Cobras, a set of DW 9000s, and a set of Axis A Longboards.

For every chain pedal i've ever played, you won't find a better one. the features speak for themselves.

Unfortunately Pearls Demon Drive was not in any way meant to replicate the 9000. Direct Drive and Chain Drive... no comparison whatsoever. maybe it was aimed to take away some of Axis and Tricks market. but anyone who knows drums knows the original bad to the bone pedal was the Ludwig Speed King. In my opinion, no chain drive pedal will ever touch a direct drive pedal. As far as chain drives go, this is the best right here.

Pearl is better...

I've used about every pedal out there. The dw 9000 is great but I have to say that the Pearl Demon Drive is a better pedal. No, I don't use any Pearl gear other than that pedal so I'm not here to defend the company's products. I honestly think Pearl drums sound .. not so good. But the Demon Drive, after a few gigs and a lil' getting used to, has improved my bass drum playing tremendously. Along with a number of useful adjustments - like long or short board, spring lock, etc., the pedal is the fastest and most responsive I've played yet. Not putting down dw, they're great, but don't slam the Demon Drive unless it's your foot doing it.

The feel of this pedal is incredibly floaty and smooth. There are so many things you can do to optimize it, there's certainly a setting you'll like. This pedal is definitely worth 549 dollars. It's the fastest chain drive pedal you can get.

Ladies out there looking for a great pedal!

I have been playing drums in all types of venues for years, from concert halls to outdoor venues. I have also used many diffent pedals from pearl to axis, to iron cobra. The DW9002PC is by far the best pedal on the market. It is lightning fast and has the perfect feel right out of the box. It is infinitely tweakable and easy to set up. The hardware is built to last especially for those of us who break down often from venue to venue. Don't waste your time on all of the gimmicks other pedals have. This pedal has everything you need in one package and is built to last a long time...that is the best reason to buy this. The feel is unbelievable. You will not be disappointed.
