I have been playin bass for 42 yrs - off and on - have tried MANY different brands from flat to round wounds...you will NOT find a better brand of string for the money. I have had these strings for 2 months now, and unlike other strings, THEY STILL WORK! I used to be a sucker for Ernie Ball's "nanoweb technology" scam, thinking that all bass strings lasted just a single month; but once I came across these strings, I felt dooped by Ernie Ball. I practice about 2 hours a day, and I go through strings pretty fast, so I need strings that will last a while so that I won't have to spend $50 every month: these strings get you out of that money wasting rut. These strings are simply the best. I try others, but honestly in one month they loose the clarity. So 5 years ago I try Blue Steels strings and are simply the best in sound, and have long life with clear sound and that save me a lot of money too!

I have been playing my Ibanez Soundgear SR885 (5-string) since 1991 and I will no put no other type of string on her. The tones are very clear -sharp and precise. My playing influence is primarily Geddy Lee so you need some strings that will respond quickly to match his style. These strings fit the bill perfectly. More importantly, the string life is amazing.
