The Dean Markley Artist Transducer is simple and effective. A small transducer, housed in a maple disk, sticks to the surface of your guitar near the bridge with a special adhesive. The adhesive allows the Dean Markley transducer to be removed and re-stuck many times without affecting your guitar's finish. This Dean Markley pickup also works great on violins, cellos, mandolins, pianos, even horns.

I owned one of these stick on pickups years ago to use with my dobro. It worked ok. Well, a couple of days ago I got another one for a travel guitar. Dreadful noise. Noise when you accidently tapped the cable. Noise from my watch gently bumping the little acoustic I was playing. Static and feedback galore. It's going back Monday for sure. I dont know how anyone could get get sound out of this, it amplifies everything, and I mean everything.

This is the best peice of equipment for the price. The sound, when recorded, is way better than mic'ing or di from acoustic electric, and it's a lot less hassle. All you have to do is play with it for a few minutes to find the ideal placement for the sound you want. It sounds great! If you're at all debating it... just buy it you won't regret it.

Believe it or not, I bought this pickup to amplify my small, cheaply-made 19-string harp. I run it through my Fender 25R Frontman with the reverb on 7 and it sounds great. Full, rich and vibrant (not tinny - even on the high strings) sound is what I get every time. I was stressing about getting a better quality harp, but as long as this little gadget gives me the sound I want from my current instrument, I'll stay small and unfancy. I play at church and in nursing homes/hospitals/hospices - so I seldom need to rock out. A well-tuned harp coupled with the Markley pickup equals a winning combo. It makes me sound as if I really know what I'm doing. When I do get that next harp, it'll get a Markley, also.

Not a pick up! I just bought it for a classical solo gig that I had to do. My playing area would be very cramped and I didn't have enough room for a mic/stand...I was also tiring of my clip-on-guitar mic so I tried this little beauty. My Ramirez 4E sounded very good using this pick up run through my Fender Acoustasonic 30. For the price, I would try it!

I bought one of these for my fiddle. I stuck it to the top of the fiddle and it worked good. Then I realized that the fiddle wouldn't fit in the case so I pulled it loose. Most of the adhesive was left stuck to the instrument and it took a lot of hard work to get it off. I then put it up under the fingerboard but the problem with that is, it causes the instrument to go out of tune. Outside of that it's great product and works really well. Just don't try to take it loose once you get it stuck in place.
