7-string guitars are hard to amplify. Most players tune the seventh string to a low B (or even A) and it's a real trick to get a big, solid tone from the other strings without the seventh turning to mud. Blaze humbuckers solve the problem by tuning the 2 coils to different frequencies. Low notes are fat and highs are bright and clean. Recommended for the bridge position.

The Blaze is designed with a scooped midrange to keep the low seventh string as bright and open-sounding as possible. Chords are very clean and even heavy overdrive retains a lot of definition.

Seventh Heaven

I have an ibanez rg7620 that came stock with the blaze pickup in the bridge and neck position. This pickup Sounds amazing! the highs pick up very well but won't make your ears bleed and the seventh string is very bright. No mud here. In the neck position it gives very warm tones perfect for clean rhythm and I've even played some distorted solos this way and they sounded beautiful. The bridge position gives highs almost equal to a emg 707 active pickup. It's great for really heavy metal. I'm thinking about buying the cheaper rg 7321 as a backup. If I do I'm definately popping a set of these babys in there.

I installed the Blaze on my Ibanez RG7621's bridge position. Great heavy tones and clean tones, harmonics jump put and are easy to get. This pickup is one element for obtaining long sustain & will bring it up to at least above average. When I first got it I did have one problem: it would give feedback like crazy (it went microphonic), so I call Dimarzio up and they had me ship it to them & in 2 weeks I got the pick up back & it's been great ever since.

I bought a 200 dollar used 7 string, and i wanted to replace the pick ups. I searched on this website and i found the DiMarzio Blaze pick up. it made my guitar sound incredible. Clean and strong, every not came out clear and not all bunched up. This pick up is definitely worth the money.
