so do i. well, i thought i did. ive been playing for over 20 years and can tune a drum damn well.. until i slapped the drum dial on my toms one night. i was totally sketched out at the thought that this piece of equipment could supercede my ears.

ive heard better tuned drums from old timers that spent the better part of a day tuning a set, which is about what it would take to replicate the quality and consistency of the drum dial.

i am completely convinced that NOTHING is faster. NOTHING is quieter. nearly NOTHING is as accurate. i actually cant wait for the day when i get all new batter and reso. heads: the drumdial will make such an annoying and time consuming process almost pleasurable. owning the drum dial will help me do what i like to do best hours sooner: drumming. 4.5 for value because its a little pricey. hearing what it can do now, i wish i bought one 20 years ago...

This drum tuner is a must have for any experienced or beginning drummer. Experienced drummers ( like myself ) will find that their tuning time will be fairly quick. For beginners, this is a great tool to train your ears for drum tuning. I've played drums since I was very young, and learned to tune them at a young age. I was amazed after tuning by ear, I was a half line or less off with the Drumdial. You do need to go around twice to get it to your desired dial number. Whatever you do, don't drag the dial over the head as it will scratch it. I chose the Drumdial over the Tama TW100 Tension Watch mainly because the Drumdial has a gauge clip to measure an exact distance from the rim. The Tama doesn't have that.The only thing nice about the Tama is that it looks nice. That's it. Buy the Drumdial, you won't regret it.

Wow! I rough tuned in a star pattern to seat the heads and fine tuned in a circle pattern like it says in the instructions that came with it. I tuned to the medium suggested settings and my drums have never sounded better! I am so happy I finally got one of these. This was to easy!
