A great concept but very difficult to get to work as you want. I started by reading everything given, then examining it to understand how it works. Then I spent about 6 hours adjusting every possible way to get optimal performance but in the end it's just not advanced enough. I would like to see it with chains instead of straps and also more control over the secondary beater. Not a good pedal for highly advanced drummers.

You know, everybody says that this pedal is cheating, or that people who use it are too lazy to learn double bass. What nobody takes into consideration is, what about folks like me who used to be able to play double bass, but now I can't due to nerve damage in my left leg. I use this, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Difficult beast to tame

First off, I don't think it's a cheater pedal. I think a lot of people are looking at this (and hating on it) for the wrong reasons. If all you want is something to do your 16ths for you you'll likely be disappointed. It needs a lot of adjusting and really good foot technique to get smooth strokes. I would not recommend this pedal for beginners at all. It is much better suited to someone who has been playing a good while and is ready to push musical boundaries and really expand their foot independence. It really should come with some sort of guide or manual explaining the basics of some of the adjustments, since basically you just have to tinker with it and use trial and error until you get it right. It took me an hour or two of tinkering to get it to do reasonably smooth 16ths and after several weeks I'm still fine tuning the adjustments. My biggest problem is that I have wide feet and sometimes hit the control switch by accident.

2 yrs ago I bought this pedal, I couldnt get it to work right..I contacted the company back n forth and that didnt do any good...I sold it to a pawn shop 100.00. So July 09, I bought another here off M.F...The pedal has problems. when you go into double mode ya got to push hard (as that stretches the rubber on the oposite beater) in order to get the primary beater to even hit the head. Primary in singlr mode works great, when ya go into double mode I have to really PUSH, it sure dont glide..I dont recomend this pedal at all.. I bought it twice just to make sure it wasnt me on the first pedal..

Great if you want to use your Hats

I have owned the duallist for a couple of years. This pedal is great if you want double bass and the ability to use your hi-hat. This pedal is not great if you want to play fast double especially for blast beats. I also dont recommend it for anyone who wants to play a lot of double. It is hard to do any complex double bass work. It is hard even doing triplets on it. However the pedal is smooth and can be adjusted a million different ways to your liking.

Bottom line. Get this pedal if you dont play a lot of double, want the ability to play your hi-hat, and dont care for extreme double speed.

Dont get this pedal, if you want to play blast beats, or want to do any intricate double bass playing.
