The Scorcher is an entry-level rail pickup that has a powerful ceramic magnet and intense coil windings to drive amps harder than a stock guitar pickup. The Scorcher's 2 coils cancel any annoying 60-cycle hum.

Designed by Seymour Duncan engineers and priced for players on a budget. Order today.

Duncan Performer Scorcher Pickup

I put this pickup in a strat that I built out of parts laying around. Originally I had Squier Bullet pickups in the guitar until I put the Scorcher in the bridge. Man, did the guitar come alive! I will admit, if you think this thing is going to beat a Duncan Hot Rail, you are mistaken, but if you want more punch in something like a cheaper squier, but cant afford a high end pick up, you will not be dissapointed with the scorcher. I use a lot of bass and midrange and it's been brilliant. One thing that I was kind of bummed out about was having to make the pickup slot wider by shaving it down on the rounded edges so that it fit. Other than that, no problems.

Good Low/Midrange Punch

I put this in a 2007 Squire Stratocaster in the bridge position. It required some filing of the opening and mounting holes in the pick-guard. The mounting holes are quite a bit closer together than the stock Squire pickups. I used an on-on-on switch to put the pup in series-parallel-single. Had some trouble getting the phasing right but I figured it out. They should really have a diagram for this configuration. Still a great value for the money.

I installed this pickup on my SX lap steel. The tone is outstanding! I have all kinds of volume. I play through a Roland Cube X30 and really get some sweet sounds. The sustains are awesome. I really can do some fancy slide work now! Great investment!

I installed mine in the bridge of my Squier Affinity Strat and did the Eddie Van Halen mod by disconnecting the other pickups and the tone pots. Now this thing screams and is dead quiet. It is hard to beat for the price!

This is a very nice pickup for the price. I would say it's as good as one's costing twice as much. I put it in the neck of my strat copy after reading other reviews and found it would be much better in the bridge. It has nice bass and mids. It was easy to install and I wish I had purchased this for my brigde. I spent $75 on that one and I think this would have worked almost as well. NO HUM!
