I had heard all they hype about how warm glass slides were supposed to sound, so I bought this. I don't have a resonator guitar, so quite possibly, this could be a wonderful slide on the proper guitar. As for my Taylor 314ce and Martin D-28 though, the tone was horrid. There was more added string noise than any slide I have used before. Resonator cat, give it a shot, but as far as steel string acoustics go, I must give this a thumbs down. Good luck breaking it though, its durable.

I've owned this slide for a while and have come to prefer glass slides over metal slides for electric guitar. I've used everything from chrome and brass to even using a Craftsmen 5/8" ratchet, I do prefer brass for acoustic though. Preferences will be different for each player. I tend to have a heavy touch. So, for me a lighter slide was the ticket. I like this slide alot. My only criticism is that I wish it was a little shorter and I try out the sizes without paying for it first. I use the slide on my ring finger. Again this is going to be an individual preference as some player like their pinky to have use of the other digits. I still use the other digits though and have just learned to make it work. I have to say that I found an old glass pill bottle at an antique store (actually 2) that was about 1" long that has become my main slide. But, it was many months of searching to find them. This is an admirable sub for. And had I not been able to find those pill bottles and try them out, or if they didn't do it for me, this would be my slide.

My blues bottle didn't last one hour out of the package...slipped from my bed to the hard floor. Great if they were unbreakable.

I own a steel slide but I don't like the relationship between the steel strings and the slide.I have used my bottle slide from day one on my acoustic and electric guitars. it's just warm and easy to control.The only thing that comes close to my bottle slide is a slide that I made out of a brass 20mm F-15 shell. The bottle slide is affordable enough so go ahead and expand on your slide playing tones
