The Best Pick... for Picks!

As a bassist who has used picks & played pickstyle a significant percentage of his playing both live and in the studio, I've yet to find a pick that is better then Dunlop's Tortex line both in selection of width and quality of material. Onstage under stage lighting your grip actually *increases* with sweat and is extremely hard to lose your grip on or drop, and they also remain as stiff hot and sweaty as they do cool and dry.

I was a die-hard user of the Purple 1.14mm picks for years when I was a strict \m/etal player as I preferred a pick that barely moved as it hit the string, but in recent years playing different genres of music I've discovered that my style has improved with the use of a pick that has some "give" to it, and now use either the "Yellow .73s" or "Green .88s" that I've found increase my speed when playing for pure speed and also impart some funk when playing an R&B, Hip-Hop, or Pop bassline. Still, I keep a well-stocked Pickbox of all 6 Tortex gauges for different applications, whether it be playing electric and acoustic bass or electric and acoustic guitar (for demoing or subbing purposes).

These were the first picks I was introduced to when I first started playing way back when. I started off with the blue ones, I believe their 100mm. I've changed to the 73mm over the years because I like something that has some give and isnt real rigid. I have tried many picks, but I always end up back playing these.

Great for pinch harmonics

I used to be obsessed with finding the right pick. I saw one of my friends using the .73 and thought to give these picks a try. I bought the .88mm picks and they are great for pinch harmonics! they haven't broken on me yet (unlike the fender celluloid picks) and they don't slip. Buy some!

I have yet to find a more durable pick. It's also one of the only picks that I don't have to worry about slipping out of my hand. I generally use the green (0.88mm if I remember right) ones but I love them all.
