The EMG-45DC Dual Coil Bass Pickup employs parallel placed coils (ceramic loaded) to produce a deep low end, and yet maintain clarity. All of the DC Models are beefy, brilliant, and have more than enough output. The DC also uses the ultra low-noise preamp designed for the EMG-JV model. EMG recommends an 18 Volt supply for extended head room. This replacement pickup for bass guitar uses a 45 Extended housing that is 4.5 inches (115mm).

Night and Day...

I bought a Schecter Stiletto Studio-6 string bass which came with EMG-HZ pickups. The HZs are are actually designed for passive basses, and as a result I always thought the tone was thin, weak, etc. I heard about 45DCs, and when I recently upgraded my other equipment I decided to give these a shot.

The difference was NIGHT AND DAY, and nothing less. These pickups have turned my bass into one of the best sounding basses I have ever heard, which surpassed my wildest expectations. I really could not believe my ears when I plugged into my amp, the tone was nothing short of phenomenal. Buying these may be (value-wise) the best investment I've ever made in my tone.

If your bass sounds weak, thin, or just puny, put these in it. You will hang on to that bass for a LOT longer, that I promise.
