Back Back, Angle 4 Speakers Mounted In Cab

The original EVM12L 12" loudspeaker was introduced in 1983. Known for its huge tone, gorgeous low-end and incredible stability at extreme volumes, it quickly achieved legendary status. Top guitarists and bassists loved it not only for its sound, but also for its reliability. Tour after tour, the EVM 12L held up to the demands of the most punishing players.

Enter the EVM-12L Black Label, the official guitar loudspeaker of Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society. Take the EVM-12L, add Zakk's personal specs (improved power handling, improved magnet design, better venting, and the Black Label colors), and now you have the greatest guitar loudspeaker in the world. Wanna argue with Zakk on that? I didn't think so.

As metal as it gets

I am a death metal guitarist. I play a pretty balanced EQ with a slight cut on the mids and an overwhelming amount of gain. I was having trouble with my tone (playing in B standard) and its muddiness. I swapped out my two bottom speakers with these babies and dear god... it was like a gift from the heavens. Extremely clear sound with low tunings and high gain. I would not recommend these speakers to non metal players, but to anyone trying to get a great high volume metal tone, it should be your first choice!

Holy Zakk

Zakk Wylde is not my favorite guitarist. I don't really want to sound like him, and I don't want to play like him; I have my own sound. No disrespect intended to a great guitarist, I just have a different sound. I had, however, heard great things about this speaker. When I finally put one in my cabinet my initial reaction was that divine intervention may have taken place. I was literally captivated by how well this speaker was voiced. I use very little processing and I like my sound to be tight and clear yet powerful. With this speaker I hear everything in the frequency range, and I had to re-EQ because I didn't need to boost specific frequencies any more; they had been there all along but not being reproduced by my old speakers; which were of excellent quality and price. Listen, I know this is an almost $300.00 speaker but it is justified when you get to play through it. After 30+ years of desiring and acquiring I found a speaker that I wouldn't part with... it really is amazing.

A Speaker With A Sound All Its Own!

While they are certainly not Celestions these units have a unique sound. These are very heavy speakers due to the massive magnet it uses. NOTE: DO NOT USE IN A PORTED CABINET! I found out too late and my ported Genz Benz G Flex 212 does not work well with these. They need to be in a SEALED NON PORTED cabinet. Once in the right cabinet all I can say is wow! If your forte is cut or scooped mids with unheard of low end that will make your bass player turn green with envy (most metal players) then these are your speakers no doubt! Same goes for R&B and Jazz players. Very warm sound! But for mainstream rock/pop/ top 40 etc these won't cut the mustard and that is why I also have a Marshall 412 loaded with Vintage 30's. Kind of a one trick pony here and expensive as hell but for certain music applications there is no equal. Just know what you are getting into before you buy!

It's Hard To Deny These Speakers!!

I purchased two of these to replace the stock Eminence speakers in my Genz Benz G Flex 212. At the time I also owned a Marshall 1960A 412 with Celestion G12T-75's. Upon the initial test with them I can honestly say that despite the fact these puppies cost me almost $500.00 they are worth every penny. If you are looking for HUGE low end and jcrisp detail across the EQ spectrum you will find it here. I use these with my Marshall JVM 410h head and my pedalboard with a bunch of different effects with Les Pauls for guitars. I tried the Vintage 30 Marshall 412 as well. My 212 blows everything away now!! Very happy and will be purchasing another G Flex and two more Black Label 212's. A/B them for yourself and you will see what I mean!!
