Elixir Light Acoustic Bass Strings are covered with an ultra-thin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Elixirs are the first major innovation in strings in over forty years, and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play. Nanoweb coating permits strings with the feel, bright tone, and punch of traditional strings.

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to five times longer than ordinary strings.

BEST STRINGS EVER!

You can't go wrong with the Elixir Bass strings for Electric or Acoustic. The set of Acoustic strings I currently have on my Washburn Acoustic Electric Bass have been on for at least 2 years and they sound as good now as they did when I put them on. The only reason I need new ones is because the coating is finally coming off. Buy these strings, because you'll never find any better.

Are E and A supposed to be the same string?

These are fine quality strings but in the first package I received, the E and A strings look identical. I mean I could not tell them apart. My guess is that I received two A's and no E. So I ordered another set... same thing. I'm not going to try for "three's a charm." The individual string envelopes said .10 and .08 respectively but the were the same exact size. The D'addario string I've used have color-coded string tailpieces so you can distinguish one from the other (if you can't tell from simply looking at the string) but these Elixirs all have a brass tailpiece.

Worth the extra couple bucks

I bought these strings for the acoustic bass guitar that I made last year, and without lying to you they sound better than any other acoustic bass guitar strings I have put on that guitar yet. I haven't had them that long, but normally the bass strings I get begin to look disgusting from finger oils and then they begin to get the hard, rough tone where as I am looking for the warm softer tone that you can get with brand new strings. These strings last alot longer, and their tone stays consistent over a long period of time making the extra $$ very much worth it.

I bought these string for my acoustic bass about a month ago because I needed a new pair and they were the only ones a stor by me carried. While they are expensive they are great strings. I own a cheap acoustic bass just to play around an practice on and the strings help it sound a lot better than I thought they would....definately spend a little more and get these strings

These sound great but the price is ridiculous in my opinion. I'm determined to find something cheaper that sounds just as good but so far I haven't.
