Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings are covered with an ultrathin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Nanoweb coating permits strings with the feel, bright tone, and punch of traditional guitar strings. Elixirs are the first major innovation in strings in over forty years and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play.

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings.

Best I've Found

These are the best strings I have used. I tried some others and they didn't have the feel or the sound of these. I have not tried the polyweb to compare but these feel and sound great. They also last a long time and seem worth the money.

These came on my Taylor 210e from the factory. I haven't had any problems w/ them at all. No string breakage. I would wonder if someone is breaking strings regularly if they are playing way too hard or their guitars are not setup right. The tone is great. Fits my Taylor perfectly. If you don't abuse your instrument, get these because they are very nice!

Not for everyone

I play an Ovation that has pretty low action. My cousin gave me a set of Nanowebs to try out because the Martin SPs that I had been using were tearing up my callouses. The smoothness of the Nanowebs were awesome and the lack of squeak when I moved up and down the fingerboard was great. I play about 3-4 hrs/day and am used to my strings lasting longer than a month and a half. That's how long the G lasted. It broke right in the middle of practice. Then the D broke 10 min before church started. The Nanowebs had a brightness and brilliance that can't be duplicated with Martin SPs or D'Addario Phosphor Bronze, but they also have strange chintzy, twangy highs. I'll play with them again if given to me, but I won't pay for them.

Great for my Taylor 210

I have a 05 Taylor 210 and these sound great on it. I tried D'addario Phosphor Bronze which are what I use on my 57 Martin 0-18, and these sounded very strange on my Taylor. Almost light a synthesized version of a guitar. I went to Elixir Nanowebs and it really brought the great sound of the guitar out. Bottom line, no strings are the best. Different players and guitars need different strings. These are great for me and my Taylor 210.

Buy the Polywebs!!!!

I've been using Polywebs on my guitar for years. I decided to try these out...oops! The nanowebs don't sound as good as the polywebs. I had a mysterious buzz from my low e-string (open) start with the nanowebs too. I replaced them with polywebs and the buzz went away. I use sometimes alternate tuning and I've never had a Polyweb break...I broke the Nanoweb G-string in a week (good thing I bought two sets). The nanowebs don't last as long either. Spend more and go with the polywebs.
