Originally I used Ernie Ball Super Slinkys and found I was changing strings every week thye went dead so fast. So, I moved over to GHS and was under whelmed and still found that I was changing strings far too often. So I tried these. They last forever and still sound good. All the talk about the lack of tone is way over done. All the talk about feel is way over done. I get great tone with these, because the most important part of getting tone is the player. The most important thing about strings, other than sound, is that they should last and these do, a long time while still sounding good. The initial expense is meaningless, because you will be changing strings maybe twice a year. I play a lot too. I have five electric guitars and they are fitted with Elixir 10's or 11's on my ES-335.

I love these strings. I use to play Ernie Balls, I saw these one in my local music store one day and decided to give them a try. I never looked back. All my guitars are equipped with Nanowebs. But buy the Medium Gauge if you plan on playing in dropped tunings. Just give them a try. I have used them for more than a year now, I have only had to re string each of my guitars once or twice. Very long lasting and hold their tone and tune very well. I have noticed that my fretboards stay cleaner too. Happy playing.

I put these on my les paul standard and it made the guitar sound like crap. I couldn't believe it was the same guitar. I'm going to play them a while anyway and see if anything changes but so far I don't plan to come anywhere near these again. Get something nickel wound if you have an LP. Back to ernie ball I think...

I have played for almost ten years now, have played in several bands, done lots of recording, and have taught guitar for the past four years. I have always used GHS Boomers for thier great sound, great feel, and price. I tried a pack of these from the music store i worked at, and at first i did not like them at all. They just didn't have the bright powerful sound of a fresh pack of strings. But then i noticed something. SIX MONTHS later, they still sounded exactly the same. And they stayed in tune better than ANY strings i have ever tried. So yes, they dont sound as bright as most other strings. But holy cow they sound good for a loooooooooong time. So now i use them for practice, rehersal, and live shows. But I still throw on a set of Boomers for recording. So if you dont like to have to worry about changing your strings for a long time, these are for you. To me they sound like a pack of boomers after about two weeks of use. But they will sound that way for up to a year depending on how much you play. Don't let bad reviews stop you, give them a try.

I am a very active player and I change strings daily. I didnt totally like the feel right off the bat but thought I could get used to it. I played a 4 hour blues gig and the low e fell off the bridge sattle a few times on a nicely set up VOS Gibson because the strings are relativly slippery. It doesnt happen with normal strings. I played pretty hard and my tone stayed good till the end of the night. I played on it at home for an hour the next day and another gig that night. The coating started to come off the low strings at the beginning of the set and I felt they were no longer playable at that point. They were done. I fortunately had another nice guitar freshly strung with Boomers and I was back to diggin on my gig.
