Elixir Nanoweb wound acoustic guitar strings are sheathed in a thin polymer coating that retains a natural feel while protecting the windings from the gunk that shortens their life and ruins tone. The coating gives them a smoother feel and reduces finger squeaks. 11-52.

They are the best strings for an acoustic guitar at this present moment.

String size just right!

I switched from using elixir phosphor bronze acoustic lights to phosphor bronze custom lights. I play a lot and have been experiencing some left hand fatigue even though the action on my guitars are low. I tried extra lights, but they were too delicate-I tended to overplay them with aggressive strumming. But the custom lights are just right! Noticeable less tension on strings, no more fatigue in my left hand and they sound bright and smooth in phosphor bronze. I string up my taylor 814ce (standard string length 25.5") and my T5 custom maple (short string length 24.74"). Thanks elixir!

All around too expensive

I've been using elixers for around 2-3 years now on my Seagull Artist series. They get a wonderful defined high end. The lows aren't anything to speak of. One thing I really can't stand about them is how fragile they are. They are incredibly easy to break. The feel of them is great, I've had the bass strings on my bass for over a year and still have great tone! But I think that the fuller tone of CHEAPER strings(d'addarios etc.), not to mention the strenght of them, gives them an advantage over the Elixers even with the long life they have.

Nice for fingerstyle

These strings have a nice, bright tone and superb clarity & note definition for fingerstyle playing. I thought they were a bit too bright & ringy for pick-style rhythm playing though.
