My full apologies to elixir!

I recently wrote a review on elixir strings that was inaccurate and unfair to the elixir manufacturer. My review was titled "Long lasting, I think not!" in which I stated that I was constantly breaking strings of various guages. It turns out that the grover machine heads on my Guild JF-30 were in need of replacement and it was not the strings at all. I have since been playing on the same set of elixir's since changing my machine heads 4 months ago and they still sound fresh and new! I truly believed at the time it was the strings but I was mistaken and would like to make things right and apologize to all musicians that my review steered wrong as well as the manufacturer who possibly lost business to my flawed review. My previous review should have been titled "Long Lasting, Definitely!"

Best Acoustic strings around

I've had these strings on my Fender for about a year believe it or not. I play many hours a day and these are just about done for... My old Washburn Kc-40v had a set of these on it for about 6 years. Of course its just sitting around and is rarely played ever.. They are great strings I personally love them. Great Product. I plan on putting these on my new Fender acoustic electric which will be used in many gigs.

The Perfect Match For My Tak And Me!

After 40+ years of buying strings I have come to one particular conclusion. If you consistently have trouble with a certain brand or gauge then you need to re-visit your method of matching strings to your playing style.
I use these on my Takamine Acoustic-Electric and they have performed without fail. They have great sound and response.
All that aside, the most important factor for me is the longer life I get out of each set. As a rule I change the Martin strings on my Martin every 30 to 45 days but I am getting 60 to 90 days out of the Elixers with the same amount of playing time.
Why don't I use Elixers on my Martin? I use it for a totally different style and prefer the sound and feel of the Marquis on it.

Never broke an Elixer string

Yeah, I'd have to second another reviewers comment: If you're breaking strings on your acoustic, then pick up the electric. I've played on Elixers ever since they came out; I've played hard boogie and rock and granted I do a lot of finger picking but I've jammed long a hard into the night with these strings, outdoors around a campfire as well as indoors, playing leads and rhythm both and maybe broken one string ever. Better odds than any other string I've tried. So I would submit that those who are breaking strings aren't being honest about their need to abuse the strings; Get an amp and an electric guitar

Beautiful Tone

These are amazing strings. I have had them on my Fender GDC-100 for about a year now. Even with daily use, they still have not broken. I play mostly soft rock so I don't strum of pick very hard. Reading other reviews, it seems people that strum hard usually break these strings faster.
The price of these strings is a little high, but it is worth it for the tone quality. The tone is very warm and mellow. The sound is very full. Other strings that I have played on sound tinny (the kind of sound you get when you play close to the bridge). Lastly, these strings stay in tune very well. I only have to tune my guitar about every 2 weeks, or when it rains. I would highly recommend these strings.
