Great upgrade for Yamaha S115V

These have twice the excursion capability of the stock speaker in the Yamaha S115V. The stock speakers are fine for vocals but they bottom out well before full power if you are miking drums. Since loudness is an exponential function of excursion, this yields four times, or 6db boost in output capability in the bass frequencies below 150hz. Kick drums come alive! Vocals and mid-voiced instruments are not garbled by an overworked woofer. Very lifelike reproduction with slight enhancement of lower end of male vocal range (where many vocal mics are lacking).

This is also an excellent speaker for bass guitar cabs. Very smooth mids with a subtle presence peak to add definition and punch.
