G-Dec 30 upgrade

You would think Fender would put better speakers in their amps but they don't. I bought one of these 10" Copperheads and put it in my G-Dec 30 after seeing that it is recommended as an upgrade for that amp. The original speaker is a toy speaker. The Copperhead really brought my G-Dec to life and gave it some real depth. The G-Dec is still just a practice amp but with this very easy modification, it sounds 100% better. Highly recommended if you are a G-Dec 30 owner. (No soldering required.)

Perfect for Princeton Reverb

I just picked up a '79 Princeton reverb with the wrong speaker in it (an Electrovoice with a huge magnet). After a lot of research and a conversation with David Allen of Allen Amps, I ordered one of these. While waiting for it to arrive, I stuck in a Jensen P10R and thought that had a pretty good sound. When I swapped in the Copperhead, it sounded like a completely different amp. Way, Way better, thick mids, smoother breakup, less crackly, just a beautiful rich tone. This is the sound I have been looking for for years. I swear it got louder as well. I usually never go wacky over products, but this speaker is remarkable. I wish they made it in a 8 inch version, I would put one in my Champ also. I actually feel like a better player because of this speaker. Is that wrong?

Great Speakers!!!

I put a set of these in my old 1980 Music Man 210 along with some new Ruby tubes. I was very impressed with the tone. I am a Tele picker and this is just the sound I needed. They have a nice, crisp tone and great mids. I used to think the stock speakers had a lot of power, but now it really packs a punch. After putting them to the test at home, I put them to the ultimate test....live on stage. I was blown away with the sound I was getting. I was even complimented by the audience about how good I was sounding that night. If you are a country picker like me or any other kind of music, I know you will appreciate the sound of these speakers!

Tone Tone Tone

This speaker has one of the sweetest tones I have ever heard. Makes me drool thinking what one of the Eminence 12inch speakers must sound like. I put this in a 25W solid state Fender Champion 110 practice amp, and this amp (which was loud to start with), got louder. But not harsher. So smooth, round, clean, clear, and nuanced, I swear it's close to a tube sound now. There are harmonics in the sustain I never knew were there before. And it'll drive like crazy too. I was worried that the magnet wasn't going to have enough heft to yield a defined bass end (the Ragin' Cajun is bigger), but it is so perfectly well defined and balanced with the mids and highs, I cannot imagine any Celestion matching it. And here's the deal: Made in the USA, baby! The Eminence website has sound samples of all of their Patriot (American sound) and Red Coat (British sound, voice coils sourced from the UK, not China) speakers. You are going to find the tone you've been looking for. I did.

Great speakers

I installed these into my old MusicMan 210 guitar amp and WOW. They give it an amazing sound. They've got that good country honk and twang as described. I play a Deluxe Nashville Tele through it and it gives me just the sound I look for in an amp. I also plugged a pedal steel guitar into it a couple times and it sounded fantastic. These are also lightweight (a lot lighter than the stock speakers anyway) and made my amp that much easier to lug around. I highly recommend these for country and blues pickers!!!
