GREAT SPEAKER

I used Celestion Vintage 30 speakers forever, but I have to be honest, I think that over the years what is considered a true Celestion speaker is now a little questionable (not all are made in England anymore). I have a Line 6 Spider Valve 1x12 combo and it came with one of those so called Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. I have to admit, it sounded good with that speaker, however, when I put in the Governor, I noticed right away that it can take a lot more volume. The sound is similar to that of a Vintage 30, yet with the Governor the bass is stronger and cleaner, it doesn't pop like the Vintage 30 does (especially when playing a 7 string guitar). Great Speaker, Made in the USA, what could be better!!! TRY IT...

I have a Marshall JCM2000 with EL34's and an old Peavy 4x12 cabinet. I play LP's Ibanez and Telecaster's. After spending much time mulling over the Eminence tone chart I went with two Texas Heat and two Governor's to give it a full balanced flavor. Wanted some good crunch/bite but still clarity. I had to special order in the T/Heats from my local store but they had the Govnr's in stock. The Governor has alot of attack and bite to it. Adding the Texas Heats brought in a great low end sound. I am writing this review mostly to help others with similar music style's to let them know these will sound great. I found it hard to find similar musical taste reviews and was unsure how the end result would sound for my style. Musical influences: SNFU, Good Riddance, Propagandhi, Rage against the Machine, QOTSA, Alexisonfire, Nomeansno, Slayer etc. I play standard tunings, drop d, and C tunings.

Obviously compared to my 20 year old stock cabinet speakers they are worlds apart. The change in tone is unreal, my sound is not muddled and lacking punch and clarity like it was before. I'm now finally happy with the sound of my Marshall (was never really impressed with it even after the tube change) I've never tried any other speakers so I can't say that they're the end all of speakers compared to "X" brand etc.

Very happy with the sound of these speakers! Great sounding speaker for a great price!

I have always been a celestion fan and especially the V30's and Gbacks. I put two E Governer's and two E Private Jacks in a Marshall 1960 cab and the sound is just awesome. You can hear every explicit detail and the pick attack is awesome. When my Marshalls are driving these speakers hard they sound even better. get these, you will not be disappointed. I use these E's combined with my celestion V30's on a full stack.

I play through a randall g3 300 watt valve head so I really wanted to be able to use its power at the max. my cab used to have vintage 30's but they couldn't handle it and blew up. so I replaced my heads tube and replaced the vintage 30's with these eminence speakers and the half stack sounds the best its ever had. These speakers help create a beautiful tone.

I viewed the ads a few too many times in the guitar magazines about how someone else found their perfect speaker from Eminence. I decided to put four governors in a cab I had laying around and four Texas heats in another cab. Holy Smokes! I heard rumors that they sounded like the vintage 30's. They are similar but better in every aspect. I was floored. It was not an advertisement gimmick, but reality. Clean they are full, smooth, clear and warm. Then push the head and watch the smile on your face grow wide. These speakers can do anything that I ask of them. Since then, Governors have found their way into more and more cabinets around here. I only have one cab left with Celestions. And I only have that so I can show people the difference. I am currently building an all carbon fiber speaker enclosure for recording purposes, and guess what speakers are going in there . . .
