First let me say i read every review on this case before i ordered it.Ok lets start with the smell,I was at work when it came and asked my wife to un box it and open it up to see if there was a bad smell,she said no and left it open untill i came home from work, and then i shoved my nose in it and smelled nothing.... Next the fit,It was tight but when i closed it up and shook it hard it never moved and that was GREAT...Mine says Epiphone on the case and it looks like leather and the top is raised slightly,the color of the pile is sorta blue-grey and is very nice,and the compartment is large also.Keys and locks seem a little cheap,dont plan on locking her in there though.Overall this case is Very Nice Looking,and Very Well Made,and the PRICE,its a no brainer. VERY HAPPY.....

Bought this case for my Sheraton II. Mine fits snug, but that is what I want. No worries about the guitar flopping around inside. The only odor I notice is a new carpet smell. Leave it open for a couple days and it will go away. Case is sturdy, well padded, and comes with two keys. For the price you can't go wrong.

Purchased for my Epi Sheraton ll. This case is a tight fit for the Sheraton but I think that is a good thing. I assume that over time the fit will improve but I'm pleased with the protection this case offers. It is attractive, the outside is arched. Yes, the smell is a little funky, but come on, how important is that? It goes away in time. I recommend this case - would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Overall this seems to be a very nice case. It's pleasant to look at and has a sturdy yet comfortable handle. The inside has a storage compartment with the grey "fuzzy carpet" that comes with most if not all the epi cases. If the case fit my Sheraton ii correctly it would be a fine deal. My guitar barley fits in the case, it's almost as if my guitar is too wide. I would have definitely returned the case had it not come the day before I had to ship my guitar out. Let's hope that not all of these cases are an ill fit.

I purchased this case with my DOT. I was concerned about the purchase of the case because I did read the reviews. First of all I am happy to say there is no bad smell. The case smells slightly like a new car. I find it to be rough enough for bouncing off stairs or the occasional door the things that the case is built for. I do notice a problem with the neck support and the padded body ramp under the guitar. It seems that compared to my S/G case the Epi case neck support appears to be installed backwards. I will try to turn it around to see if this will eliminate the gap under the body pad and lower the neck support to give it a more even fit. The case is good enough. It says Epiphone instead of the big "E" and it looks good. compare what you would pay for a Gibson 335 and matching case then compare the little things that need tweaking then go ahead and purchase the Epi stuff good luck in your ventures
