Not what I'm used to

Being an Ernie Ball electric string user for 20+ years, I was eager to try these out. I put them on my Taylor over the weekend, and have to say that the warm, vibrant tone I'm used to took a hit. These strings are very dull sounding and have little resonance. I'll be replacing them with the Elixer's that my Taylor came with tonight. Will continue to use the slinkys on all my electrics, but these acoustic strings disappointed me. They're not the worst I've ever used, but you get cheaper tone with cheaper strings.

These strings are so awsome. I got them out of the package and through them on and tuned up and I was in heaven. I swear that my 100 dollar acoustic guitar now sounds like a Martin & Co. guitar!!! My guitar teacher has a Martin & Co. and it sounds just like it. These strings are defenently worth it. I would defenently recomend buying these strings.

I have used pretty much every string available and always end up returning to Ernie's for my acoustics and my electrics. My only gripe is I get 3 maybe 4 gigs out of a set of strings before they start poppin and once one goes the rest are near behind. That's the downside. Upside, nothing sounds like them. I could use D'Addario's...but in my opinion they sound dead...as in lifeless...and yes, they last...but that just means they are around to irritate me more:..so, I suck it up and change the Ernie's. For me they are the best. I have them on my Ovations, my Taylor (which came with Elixirs..aargh, dry sounding string) and my 335s. Teles, and Strat. The strings both acoustic and electric are balanced tonally from string to string and react to nuance. The end.

I put them on a tak santa fe and the sound was wonderful. The melowness of the strings played right into the cedar top of my tak. great strings if this is the sound you are looking for.
