I bought a Rogue Dreadnaught and I despised the strings it came with. They were way too bright for me. Since I enjoyed the Hybrids on my pos electric, I decided to go ahead and buy these acoustic Hybrids. If you want a dark sound, this is what you need. I had a problem with tuning, but I blame myself for whatever happened during the installation. I definitely recommend these for the hard rockers.

Gauges really wrong for most acoustics

I bought these hoping I could get away with a lighter set and an unwound 3rd on my Gibson J-185, but I was very mistaken. This guitar has a 24.5" scale, and these strings are way too light to intonate well at all. All the unwound strings play way sharp, no matter how lightly you try to finger them, or how low the bridge and nut are adjusted. The quality is fine, but it doesn't matter. Unless your bridge can be adjusted for much lighter strings and an unwound 3rd, or if playing in tune doesn't matter much, don't even consider these. They're a bad experiment.

Avoid these strings

I use, love, and swear by hybrid slinky strings for my electric guitar, so when I saw these acoustic strings I immediately ordered a set. Well sir, I don't like them one bit. The top 3 strings are not phosphor bronze at all, but just the regular EB flat steel electric strings, and they don't sound pretty on an acoustic. The bottom 3 strings are OK I guess, but even from those I don't get the rich tone I am used to from D'addario acoustic strings. I will be taking these off soon and going back to D'addarios. I won't be able to stand leaving them on much longer.

I gave them more than the minimum rating on features only because the G string is flat, rather than wound, which could be good for solo runs and lead work. But overall I can't stand the sound from these strings.
