I put these strings on my 6-string Rogue bass, and immediately they didn't work. The low B and E were buzzing, even after adjusting the bridge and action properly. The next night, with less than 5 minutes of attempted playing, the high C string unraveled. I hope I just got a bad batch, but they're horrible from my experience.

So I'm a little different... I have a Shecter Stilleto Custom 5 String - It's great, I love it, but I wanted to try out something crazy and I was honestly a little tired of the low B. SO I took all the strings and moved them down one so instead of B-E-A-D-G, it would be E-A-D-G-C. For the C I used a guitar string(.36)with a paper clip in the end of it, which ended up breaking and the string whipped back and cut my hand. I began looking for a set of strings that would work for my new taste. Well folks, sorry, but they don't exist, so instead I bought a pack of these babies and just used all but the B string.

Recently I have decided I want another five string to have in standard tuning. When I do that I'll buy a back of these and a 4-string pack of power slinkys and use the power slikys for the new bass (probably a traben) with the low B and use the remaining strings for the Shecter. I love these strings! Ernie Ball rocks!!(though it wqould be nice if they made so strings for out-there 5-stringers like me)

I tried Peavey Cirrus strings, were decent at first and then the brightness quickly died. Tried D'Addario, was unimpressed. I bought a 6-string with Elixirs on it, possibly the worst strings I've ever used. Then I was enticed into buying a set of DR Sunbeams which were decent, but I would never recommend them.

I hadn't expected much from these to be honest. I've had them on for a little while now, and WHAT A SET! I could not say enough about the tone that comes from these strings. The B and E strings have that satisfactory zing to them especially when slapped. The A and D have that nice mid-rangy growl, the G and C are appropriately bright yet not harsh. Every string has a very deep presence, but not overly boomy (unless if EQ'd accordingly)

More expensive doesn't always mean better, at least not for me. I recommend that fellow sixers at least try these.
