EC Reversed Dot snare heads come with a unique "reversed dot" made with the same 3mil material as the ring. Each head consists of a 7mil top ply and 10mil bottom ply for maximum durability, especially with the reversed dot version (which totals 20mils thick at its center). This features the sophisticated edge control system that banishes unwanted overtones.

A translucent frosted coating lends a unique, attractive look. Despite the head's relative thickness, it has a forgiving feel; ghost notes project tremendously well; rim shots offer a "tweaked" palette of rich overtones; and center-of-the-head strokes yield fat, focused tones. The stress-relieved reversed dot patch has the unique effect of eliminating some mid-range frequencies, yielding a desirable crack in all tuning ranges.

For snare drums it's particularly effective and yields a pre-EQ'd sound that will please both player and sound engineer.

A hi-tech take on the snare head! Order today.

Good All Around Sound

In reading all the other reviews if you like a tight high crack this head is NOT for you. I have used those heads & you need time to get use to the very different tone of this one,BUT I came to like it because I was able to get many differnt sounds out of it! I can crank it & still play on the center of the head if I dont want to rim shot I like that big time. If you play funk this might be for you because it gets a chunkyer tone. Again all depending on what you like this head IS versitle. Please remember the condition of your bottom head & the type of wires you use. If you want a great snare sound & volume your drum MUST be maintained. That goes for the rest of your kit!

I bought this head a while back and I can't stand the sound that comes out of it. I like tuning my snares high with no dampeners but also have minimal over-ring (except on my piccolo). The so called dampening ring on this head is a joke. The over-ring is louder than pop when you hit it. If I could go back and not buy it, I would, and I recommend you don't either.

This is one of the worst snare heads I have played. I have tried numerous tuning methods and nothing seems to work for me with this head. The overtones are very low end almost like a rack tom. I am not at all pleased with this head.

I first played this head that was mounted on a tama snare drum at my local music shop. It was love at first listen. For snare drums, I love the fat, yet still crisp sounds from the drums of classic rock. This head does it all and I am very satisfied.
