EC snare heads each consist of a 7 mil top ply and 10 mil bottom ply for maximum durability, each with the sophisticated edge control system that banishes unwanted overtones. A translucent frosted coating lends a unique, attractive look. Despite the head's relative thickness, it has a forgiving feel; ghost notes project tremendously well; rim shots offer a "tweaked" palette of rich overtones; and center-of-the-head strokes yield fat, focused tones.

The EC head is not damped, it's treated around the edges to tweak the overtones and response. For snare drums it's particularly effective and yields a pre-EQ'd sound that will please both player and sound engineer.

I have used this snare head before. In fact my schools drum set has this drumhead on it. This snare head is the absolute worst head I've ever seen, and played. There is absolutely no pop to the head. You have to have the snare low pitched or else the head will snap while putting it to your preferences. Honestly I don't believe the drumhead is worth it's price. It sound bad, and is a pain to try and tume. I dissaprove

I used this snare head for my 14'snare. I was shocked by how much louder and clean my snare got. With my band going nuts I always got complain from my band that my snare couldn't be heard. Ever since I got this head. I have had fellow drummer asking me what snare head I use. I've also have used it for school concerts and man did my teachers love it. I say this is a great snare head. Go out and buy one you won't be disappointed.

Ok Folks, here is the deal. One must review a drum head based on its quality and durability because it will sound vastly different on different drums. I put this on my 13x7 acrylic drum and it sounded awful. so I put it on my 13x3 piccolo (I know, you arent supposed to do that but they have the same bearing edge profile, i did them myself) and it sounded amazing. So that is what I have to say about drum heads

Edge control, huh? Stuck this on my steel (maybe the problem) snare thinking i'd be done with E-Rings. Rings even more than the Remo UX head it replaced. RRRR. But on the good side, i was able to duct-tape an E-Ring an inch smaller (the right size E-Ring on the top of the head didn't have ANY effect) onto the bottom of the batter. The tape and the ring fixed the ring, and with a Remo Ambassador Hazy on the bottom it sounds great. Too bad I needed to tape E-Rings on. The head is really durable, been pounding on it for almost 2 months, only 3 tiny dents barely visible.

I just received this head in the mail today. I immediately took off my G1 coated head on my snare I've had for what seems like forever and replaced it with this baby. WOW! Right off the bat, I noticed a good sound before it was tuned high enough. Once I got it tuned to a note I liked, it blew me away. I couldn't believe the sound that was coming off of my Ludwig Accent CS snare! I absolutely can not wait to get the EC2's in the mail for my toms. Evans has blown me away once again with their outstanding quality and sound! Thanks!
