The EMAD Resonant comes with 2 interchangeable foam rings that allow you to manipulate the bass drum resonant head sound without the need for internal damping. The 2 foam rings vary in thickness to vary the amount of overtone dampening. Each ring eliminates overtones around the edge of the 5" offset microphone port and offers varying degrees of control over attack, sustain, pitch, and feel. A fast and efficient way to change your tone without changing your entire resonant head.

Pillows are for sleeping - Use an EMAD Resonant Bass drumhead for tone control. Order now.

Pretty Good but...

after owning it for about a month, the softer foam that goes in the port hole has torn and is useless. In live performances, it won't matter much but it looks sloppy as it flaps around. I don't even use the foam now as it still sounds great. I just feel like I wasted some hard earned cash on a product that doesn't last in its entirety.

Put this head on my 24" vistalite and after about 4 months now, I have nothing but great things to say about it. Have personally had no problems with the foam, and have just purchased a 22" for my Yamahas. I LOVE THIS HEAD.

Bought this head to replace a factory head and LOVE IT!!! Have been playing on it solid 4 days a week min. for the last 3 weeks and have had no problems. play a gretsch maple 6 ply and it toned down the overtones and gave me more volume. Actually had to back the master on the bass mic down quite a bit. So far so good versus other reviews. will see how it holds out.

I thought this head would solve my problems. I had an Evans EQ3, which I absolutely loved. The hole cracked from the microphone bumping the edge, and I eventually blew a hole threw the head. I thought the EMAD would be the way to go, but I was wrong. It is the same thickness as the EQ3, but it produces extra overtones, which I hate. I never had to throw a blanket in my bass drum, but now I do. In addition to that, the pads are horrible. I put them on properly, never tearing them, and they both ripped after one use. I'm not a heavy hitter by any means. I should have read the reviews before I bought this head. Save a few extra bucks and get the EQ3 if you are an Evans fan, because this one is not worth it.

GOOD Sound, BAD Design

I bought EMAD's for the front and back at the same time. The sound was amazing but soon had problems with the emad foam padding on both heads. The 2 resonant pads (non-batter side) completely blew out after maybe an hour of playing each. After about a month on the batter head, the plastic sleeving that holds the pad against the head ripped and had to be duct taped to hold the pad in place reducing the sound. These heads sound great but are way too fragile for any working drummer
