I put these on a japanese reissue mustang bass. Already half dead tone when you first put them on. Worse, the a string keeps popping out of the nut. It seems only .70 gauge works as an a string on a mustang bass. Go with the rotosound funkmasters.

Surprisingly Not Bad

My prior experience with Fender strings was with the 9-gauge electric guitar strings that come standard on many of their guitars. Worst strings I've ever tried. Swap those immediately!

I remember being impressed with the tone of my Mustang Bass when I played it in the store. Unfortunately, based on my past Fender strings experience, I immediately changed them for another brand. Mistake! I have not been able to replicate or exceed the tonal range or string-to-string balance of the Fenders with sets from D'addario or DR.

I'll be going back to the Fender strings next time I change!

There aren't any of these strings around in shops where I live, and had to wait a month to get them ordered through Guitar center. I guess they are discontinuing them.
